Welcome to the first NHS-R Community Show and Tell Session!
These are going to be informal, quick presentations of how you are using R or other data science tools in your organisations. Each session will contain a handful of talks between 10 and 15 minutes, with plenty of time at the end of each session for q&a and networking. The sessions won’t be recorded, giving those of us who are a little bit more shy the opportunity to present in a friendly, welcoming space.
In this session, we will have the following talks, focusing on using R in production
- Chris Beeley will present the golem package for developing robust shiny applications
- Dan Kay will present the targets package, a make like tool for creating a pipeline of all the steps required to build your analyses
- Gary Hutson will present docker, a tool for containerising applications, making it easier to develop and deploy your stuff
- Tom Jemmett wil present GitHub actions, a way of automatically running checks, tests, and deployments, built into GitHub
